First Touch are delighted to announce that The Tontine Hotel have recently sponsored a new set of strips for our 2004 squad.
This marks the 10th year of sponsorship by Joe and Veronica Nelis, owners of the Tontine Hotel, and all at First Touch would like to thank them for their generosity.This partnership has been in place since First Touch started and extends to the use of the Hotel’s superb facilities for the end of season leaver’s night and the rooms for the regular Coaches meetings.

NEWSNET SCOTLAND SPONSORS 2002 SQUAD

Our 2002 squad have been presented a brand new strip courtesy of Newsnet Scotland thanks to their coach Davy Shand.

AMS Outsourcing was founded by Mr Brian Bonar, grandfather to one of our Group 4, Under 9′s player, Rhys Gourdie. Brian lives in San Diego, California,
USA, however loves nothing more than to watch a First Touch training session when back in Scotland. He is very much a supporter of childrens active learning, and as such also serves on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of San Diego.

First Touch is a self funded voluntary organisation. Our players pay £3.00 for each coaching session, this is to cover running costs, kit provision, teams in leagues etc.

We have, however, been very fortunate to have received tremendous support from parents, friends and sponsors over the past few years. As a result of the continuous generosity of sponsors and hard work by some of our parents and coaches, we have been able to purchase equipment, buy coaching and playing kits for all age groups, replace kits for our coaches, meet the costs of attending courses, entering teams in competitions and treat our players to an annual Christmas outing to the cinema.

Most of the funds are raised by holding a social night each December and organising an annual sponsored walk/barbeque which have generated between £2,000 and £4,000 per year. There is now an annual First Touch Golf Day held at Greenock Golf club, this event is down to the hard work of parents Jim & Elaine McAulay and we were very grateful to be handed a cheque for over £2000 at this year’s event
